- Set
firm dates and expectations for your fundraising event
at the beginning.
- Start
by contacting people that you know. These are the
people that a most likely to help out your cause.
Ask everyone you know (family, co-workers, neighbors,
friend, teachers, business owners, etc).

Having a positive attitude and knowledge of your product
will increase your chances for success.
- Sell
the cause and not the product. It is most effective
if you let people know what the money will support.

Try fundraising in the places where you spend money.
Contact not only members of the community, but area
businesses you support as well.
- Don't
be afraid to ask for help. Ask your spouse or other
family members to help with your fundraising event.
- Make
a strong personal commitment to your cause. Those
you are selling to will be more willing to sponsor
an event you are committed to yourself.
- Be
sure you have a clear goal/objective in mind.
- Make
sure that the entire group, school district, church,
sports teams, fire company, organization, etc is aware
of why you are raising money. Educate your group!
- Stress
the importance of their support, whether big or small
let them know every bit helps.
- Set
a realistic goal for your group and publicize it as
you go along. Keep your group well informed of it's
success!
- If
applicable make up a flyer before the event and an
update/collection report after the event.
- Set
up a competition/challenge between the groups.
- Create
a fundraising list of people and businesses that have
supported you and fund raising will become faster
and smoother each year.
- Be
sure to thank everyone for their hard work, support,
and efforts.
- The
profit from your fundraiser can exceed your expectations
if everyone does their part.
